Reports

A well designed database should minimize the need for printed reports. When reports are necessary they can often be viewed on screen and never actually printed. For example, it should not be necessary to print a list of all the tasks assigned to an individual - instead the person should call up his assignments, scroll through and update each one as necessary and close the form. It is a tremendous waste of time for individuals to store personal copies of information they are not likely to access often. Instead it is better to have the information about meetings, projects, etc., available in a central database where the most recent version is stored.

The Management Tracker does provide numerous reports in cases where they need to be viewed or printed.

>Standard Reports - There are a set of reports meant to list entries in the database in a variety of ways. These include listings by
  • Responsible Person
  • Author
  • Responsible Committee
  • Author Committee
  • Item Type (Decision, Question, Client Issue, etc.)
  • Category (Finance, Planning, Staffing, etc.)
  • Project or Event
>Calendars - Calendars may be printed by Due Date or Start Date. Each entry on a calendar will include
  • Due Date and Start Date
  • Project or Event Name
  • Responsible Person
  • Task
  • Item Status
>TimeScale - This is actually a combination Report/Form. It is based on the Gantt or bar chart and shows a bar for each task indicating how much time has elapsed for the current task. For example, if the bar is 50% shaded, that means 50% of the scheduled time has passed. The form is interactive so the use may quickly update information about the task including an indication that the task is complete and move on to the next task.

>Statistics - A number of statistical reports are available.

>Export Reports - Additional reports may be generated by the user from information exported from the Tracker
